Everyone loves a bargain!!

Who doesn’t love getting in on a good deal? We all are familiar with Walmart’s “Rollbacks” and “Amazon’s Prime Day,” the current versions of Kmart’s antiquated “Blue Light Specials.” Yet, no man can ever cut a better deal or be anywhere near as generous as God Himself, who has already “blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 1:3).  Who among us can even come close; as we recall Paul’s observation in Romans 8:32, “He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?”

Jesus, Himself, in Luke 6:38 promises that God will outdo the generosity that we show others with generosity, with which He will show us by putting in our laps “Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over…”  Let’s not forget to mention, God’s generosity is more available and longer lasting than any “Blue Light Special,” and even outlasts Amazon’s “Prime Day.”  God’s deal is as unchanging as God Himself, yet we have to acknowledge, that considering we’re mortal beings, this is a limited-time offer, because as Hebrews 9:27  confirms,  judgement awaits upon our own passing.

One good example of His generosity is the great “3 for 1” deal that He offers us, His children in the following verse: Romans 12:12, Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.

Upon first glance, we may be confused and scratch our heads, not recognizing this amazing deal, as it simply appears to be a small string of commands that are encompassed in a section of scripture that contain more commands that show the marks of a “True Christian” and not simply one who... is simply self-identifying as “Christian” without regard to the Biblical call to be “A living sacrifice” that opens this very section of Scripture that we’re contemplating (Romans 12:1-2).  Anyways,  in regards to Our Father’s special 3 for 1 offer in Romans 12:12,  please realize that if we can take hold of any one of the aspects then we can more easily have and experience the other two as well! For example, if we can focus our attention to being “constant in prayer” we will find it easier to be “patient in tribulation” and to actually “rejoice in hope”!!

Who else, other than Our Generous & Compassionate Father God, calls us, who have “no money” to “come to the waters” and “buy wine and milk without money and without price” (Isaiah 55:1-3) will give us this great 3 for 1 offer!!
